Statement of Condition
Condition Representations and Condition Information Presented in Descriptions
Smiles From The Past does not represent or possess the personnel or skill sets to professionally grade all valued items held for sale.
We strive to provide accurate information on all items listed for sale. Such information includes comments relating to working conditions, any noticeable parts missing, paint condition, scratches, abnormal wear, the manufacturing date of the item, item history if significant and the condition of the original box and/or packaging if accompanying the item.
We have tried to use a conservative approach relating to our evaluation of the item's condition because condition directly influences the selling price of each item.
We welcome you to review our pictures, and description details and strongly suggest that you shop items with other auction houses or legitimate vintage toy and collectible sellers so you can make an informed decision before buying any of our items.
When shopping other auction houses, please keep in mind that our item pricing never includes any add-on auction fees that can result in an additional 10%-25% charge over and above the accepted bid price of the auctioned item.
If a Buyer of one of our items feels that the description or pictures did not accurately portray the condition of the item that you purchased, we will welcome your feedback, and if appropriate, we will try to fairly evaluate the need to process a price adjustment refund or a return based on such feedback.
The following meanings should be associated with the condition comments contained in the item descriptions accompanying each item listed:
Mint Condition: The item is still fully in its original condition, box and or packaging. NIB means new in box.
Excellent/Exceptional Condition: The item is in almost perfect condition with below normal wear.
Very Good Condition: The described item has signs of normal wear that would be expected to exist for the age of the toy with the likelihood that the item was carefully and responsibly played with or used.
Good Condition: The described item reveals obvious wear, tear, scratches, unusual paint loss, fabric damage that resulted from the failure of the previous user to treat the item as a valuable collectible. All items in Good Condition should be working and if any non-essential parts are missing, the description will highlight such items.
Fair or Poor Condition: The described item may not work as intended due to electrical wiring issues, on/off switches, broken original parts or the item exhibits excessive wear, paint loss or other damage that would require repair or restoration efforts to achieve the functionality of the item or appearance to qualify for a condition that could be rated Good, Very Good or in some rare case, Excellent.
