This beautiful unretouched 1880 Kyser & Rex Co. Cast Iron Mechanical Bank featuring a Chimpanzee is a second casting. When a coin is placed in the slot, the monkey acts as a scribe and records the transaction in the ledger with the writing instrument in his right hand.

The bank works perfectly, and the original metal coin trap catch and key is present. There is no rust on the bank but the original paint has thin spots and some fading.

The height of the bank measures about 5 ½” high and 5 ¾” in length. These mechanical banks are highly collectible.
