- Description
This is a beautiful working mechanical bank that has it all. The great mechanism of twisting a lever on the trunk of the tree enables the smaller monkey to climb the back of the large monkey who deposits the coin into the lion’s open mouth is a sight to be seen.
The lion still has the original glass eyes and there are virtually no scratches or marks on the metal. The coin lid cover fits nicely on the coin catcher but a key to open the coin cover is not present.
The paint is not touched-up so the piece does show its well cared for age for paint that is over 140 years of age. This bank is a favorite among the most knowledgeable collectors.
