1890’s Antique Paper Mache French Bulldog Nodder/Growler Pull Toy

Any collector will be hard-pressed to find this highly collectible toy in any better condition. The dog has flocked cream and black coloring with black ears and a pink mouth with white teeth that resemble an authentic animal.

The large glass eyes are penetrating, The leather collar over the original straw fur allows one to see the long and sturdy chain that can be pulled to move the dog along the surface as the hidden wheels under the four paws take hold. 

When you pull on the chain, the dog’s hinged mouth opens to reveal the menacing teeth and mouth while a growling sound is heard. The dog measures about 18” in length and 11” in height. There are only a few minor flaws to the paper mâché and after 130 years, you could be certain that this animal had a well-protected life. This toy is a knockout.
