This heavy metal unique alarm clock measures 12" in width, 8" in height, and 15" in length.

The wind-up alarm clock was made by Chicago's Darche Mfg. Company. The silver plate has not been retouched, so there is some surface oxidation on the metal, but very few areas are showing major pitting, scratches or damage.

The clock has an alarm system that is spring-operated. Antique coiled batteries powered the operation of another alarm bell and flash flashlight bulb. The round clock mechanism is easy to remove for cleaning, repair, or service.

The instructions on setting the clock are engraved on the back of the clock base platform. All the original clock adjustment screws and winder key screw are present. The clock was not working when we tested it. This rare piece was built to simulate being awakened by sounds that would be familiar at any fire or police station, while the flashing light further caught the user's attention.
