- Description
The bottom of the tin is clearly marked “Tombo, The Alabama Coon Jigger, The Ferdinand Strauss Corporation New York, U.S. Pat. May 24, 1910.” When tested, the wind-up mechanism worked well and the dance platform was easy to remove to gain access to the winding mechanism.
The start/stop lever was not working smoothly but when the toy was wound the dancing mechanism did start. The tin litho condition of the dancing man is very good with no missing appendages and the paint is in excellent condition.
The dance platform does show normal wear. There is some minor rust and oxidation on the flat back tin dance floor. The toy measures 9 ½” high with a base length of 4 ¾” in length and 3 ¼” in width. These Strauss dancers are highly collectible.
