1918 WWI Army Recruiting Poster in Antique Oval Shaped Frame - “Colored Man Is No Slacker"

This wonderful lithograph poster was created by the artist Edward George Renesch. The poster measures 19 ¾” in height and 15 ⅞” in width. The antique frame is 28 ½” in height and 21” in width. The poster is in excellent condition because it has been in the glass frame for over a century.

The frame is quite old and there are splits in the wood along the edges. However, in the case of this poster, we believe the frame does add a proper amount of nostalgia and age to go along with the armed services appeal to have Black Americans enlist for service.

This is a very nice piece to remember the sacrifices that many Americans made to protect our freedom regardless of race. These sacrifices were made by Black Americans despite the fact that the armed services during the war treated most non-whites unfairly.
