- Description
This popular Pennsylvania made 1920’s Cast Iron Hubley Mechanical Bank is in very good condition. The operating mechanism of the bank worked well when tested and all the original cast iron parts except for a cracked corner piece on the coin cover are in order.
When a coin is placed in the monkey’s mouth and the lever is pressed below the monkey on the base of the bank, the monkey rapidly springs forward to deposit the coin into the organ grinder’s music box.
The bank measures 8 ¾” in length and only 3” wide at the base with the tallest figure standing 7 ¾” tall. The bank has some paint loss but most of the loss shows on the monkey’s head and neck. The key to the bank is missing.
This is just one of the many valuable and rare collectibles you'll find on Smiles From The Past website.
