1920’s Table Top Folk Art Painted Cast Iron Antique Dog Nutcracker

This working and excellent condition nutcracker (no cracks, repairs and paint is in very good condition with just a little oxidation near each lower paw and some paint wear on the tail handle). 

The dog cracker is named Filbert III since it easily can crack a hazelnut with ease like Filbert II.  The nutcracker measures about 4 ½” in height and the length with the tail lever is about 11”. 

These nutcrackers were made to be heavy and the jaws will grip a nut like a Pitbull when you raise and lower the tail lever.
