- Description
This heavy, unretouched metal fire engine measures over 32" in length and 13" in height. The Keystone Water Tanker decals are present on both sides of the water tank.
The front engine hood raises, and the fire bell on the front is present. The truck's original wheels and hubs are in very good condition. The two original small ladders are missing.
The front fire nozzle and wheel assembly are working. This truck could use reconditioning, including a new paint job with additional work to be performed on the water pump. The gears and wheels associated with the boom movement (raising and lowering) work, but can use an adjustment. The front steering mechanism works well.
These old heavy pumpers are worth the effort to recondition for those collectors who can restore classic metals. The pressed steel metal is in very good condition with regard to a lack of serious rust or dents.
If a water pumping mechanism were added to the water tank, the fire truck could become a showpiece in any collection after new primer and paint are applied. We have seen many of these trucks sell for over $1,500 in very good aesthetic condition.
