The near-mint display box contains 11-mint condition unopened cough drop boxes priced at 5 cents a box. This vintage display provides a great memory of over-the-counter cold remedies from the past. M-O Cough Drops were manufactured by Foster and Brockhold Company located at the Dalles in Oregon.

Active ingredients of the cough drops include menthol, peppermint, tincture of capsicum (now known as red pepper), tincture of tolu (oil in balsam wood from South America), myrtle oil (oil from distilled stems and twigs), and oil of anise.

Now that you know the ingredients, you have to find the brave soul with a cold to see if the cough drops work.  Unfortunately, the 5 cents box price should be revised substantially upward so the guinea pig (brave soul) can pay its fair share.
