This 8" tall, 10" wide and 8- 1,/2" deep tin litho musical toy features Vernon Grant's famous dancing elf and rabbit illustrations on both the removable back panel and around the sides of the toy.

The back panel was designed to hold a songbook. The toy operates like a xylophone as you move a metal lever with a red ball across the keys.

The lever and music work, but the toy had a battery motor that allowed notes to be amplified and sustained. This battery's functions are no longer operational.

The playing surface of the toy does have paint loss and some oxidation, but the red note labels are still present. The side and back panels containing all the Vernon Grant illustrations remain in very good condition with little scratching or wear, with the exception of a paint blemish above the roof of the illustrated house that is located near the right side of the back panel.

These old tin litho musical toys are becoming scarce.
