This well-preserved 13" x 10-1/4" three-color advertisement for Buck Rogers' 25th Century products appeared in Boy's Life magazine in December 1934 (front of magazine on opposite page).

The rocket pistol sold for 50¢, the holster for 39¢, a helmet with a vision protector, earphones, and antenna was $1.00. The popularity of Buck Rogers in the 1930's confuses some pop music fans since Elton John was not the original 'Rocket Man.'

This advertising piece revealed the forceful message that young children heard in the ad, such as "Tell them (Mom and Dad) how badly you need this equipment." Thankfully, 1930 tantrums were usually resolved in the proverbial woodshed.
