We try not to toss history into the garbage. This classic 8 1/2" long, 8" wide wing span and 5 1/2" tall metal plane piloted by Popeye with a pipe in his mouth needs some TLC.

All metal is present, including the front wheels, rear wheel, propeller, and colorful markings that have made a toy like this worth between $400-$600 in working and clean condition.

The wind-up mechanism doesn't work but its access is made easy because of the location adjacent to the wheel hub. The Louis Marx logo is present behind Popeye's head and the King Features Syndicate mark is printed on the edge of a wing.

If you have the ability to fix a wind-up and a desire to perform some paint touch-up and toy clean-up, this is a toy waiting to be returned to its former greatness, and hopefully, the value of this piece would climb 6-10 fold as a result of such effort.
