1950’s Professional Mortimer Snerd Ventriloquist Dummy Doll

This is a very real Mortimer Snerd custom-manufactured ventriloquist dummy that appears to be identical to the one Edgar Bergen would use.  The vintage clothing, bow tie, shoes, Ponti Rialto straw hat, and even the old vintage Timex watch on Mortimer’s wrist all points to its use by a Professional ventriloquist. 

If you look at historic pictures of Edgar Bergen with Mortimer Snerd, there is no apparent difference in the custom-made head, body, face or clothing regimen with that of this doll. 

The doll has many hand controls that cause the eyes to move as they follow you and the mouth controls enable highly controlled movement.  Mortimer’s classic toothy grin and large Adam's apple make having this toothy dummy on display very special. 

The doll is 36” tall and his body has been professionally enhanced with foam rubber and other materials to ensure lifelike mass when used.  The doll, clothing, hair, and accessories are in excellent shape.
