1950's West German Schuco 1011 Dalli Tin Wind-up Race Car

This rare excellent condition 6-1/4" long red race car with driver is one of Schuco's best.

The winding mechanism with original key worked perfectly when tested. The car has a unique feature that displays when the car approaches an edge of a table or platform (works best on a round or square table) that causes the racer to change direction as the driver throws his arms in the air and turns his head in panic before returning his hands back to the steering wheel.

The motion of the driver results from a unique notched and patented circular wheel attached to the bottom of the chassis. At times, when the car gets to an edge, the car may stop and not continue on but at least the car does not travel over the edge.

The condition of the driver with his large yellow cap and eyeglasses is excellent. The plentiful distinct Schuco branding on the underside of the vehicle let's you know how special this car is.
