1960 Normura Japan Hy-Que Robot Monkey Rosco "Speak No Evil" Battery Operated Toy (Not-Working)

This great 17" tall Japanese monkey stands out in any collection, whether working or not.

The toy itself is in very good visual condition, with all clothing, metal, base, and battery compartment displaying well. There is some staining on the blue and white striped t-shirt worn by the monkey under the sports jacket.

When we inserted four "D" size batteries into the battery drawer, we could not get the toy to activate after we pressed the hidden on/off button mounted under the middle finger of the rubber right hand.

When working, the monkey squawks as his face turns red and his arms move while walking. There are smoke ports in the monkey's ears that would emit smoke. All the rubber on the monkey's face and hands remains pliable.

Whether a new buyer could get this toy working or not, this is an excellent piece to display in any toy collection.
