- Description
This paper hand fan with wood handle needs little explanation. Uncle Remus Brand Syrup was sold during the first half of the twentieth century; in the early twenty-first century, B &G Foods bought the company.
Uncle Remus became famous because Joel Chandler Harris started to write and tell stories of African American folktales that he heard in the 1860’s and 70’s. Most of these stories were about black slaves and Harris’s work would impact the likes of Kipling, Twain, and Will Rogers.
