Jackie Coogan was one of the first young child actors famous for his role in the 1921 Charlie Chaplin silent film titled "The Kid."

As a young actor, he was paid well, but his mother never gave him the money. Eventually, a new law, known as the Coogan Law, was enacted to protect the welfare and earnings of child actors.

The two 7-oz tins were manufactured by H.D. Foss & Company. The pails measure 3- 3/8" tall and about 3-3/4" in diameter. Each tin has an embossed lid with a handle attached.

Each painted tin displays an image of young Jackie and a cartoonish-looking scene of Jackie and his dog being chased by a policeman. One tin is in very good condition and the other has more oxidation on the lid and wear on the outside panels that appear in good condition. The original tins came with chocolate candy. This candy was probably consumed long before most of us were born.

These pails are a highly sought-after collector's item.
