The working gun has a wooden barrel with a cast iron grip and sliding metal cover near the plate hammer. A loud clicking sound is heard when the metal plate is pulled back.

The gun is under 6" in length and there are no markings on it to indicate the manufacturer. We believe the gun may have been manufactured by Steven's Manufacturing.

The wood and metal on the gun are solid with little material loss, but the paint and finish are worn and could use refurbishment if a collector wants to enhance the value of this item.

The second gun is a smaller 5" wood and metal gun similar to the first gun described above, but the clicker mechanism on the gun does not emit a sound when the metal plate is pressed.  But when you thumb the gun hammer by hand, you can get a light clicking sound as the metal flexes.

These old clickers are becoming hard to find. The progression from these foundry-type toy guns to cap guns is easy to understand when you add these two antiques to your collection.
