The lot includes three excellent condition oval-shaped 2-1/4" long nickel-plated banks made in Chicago, IL by the National Recording Safe Company. Three of the banks have 5 slots for pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, and half dollars, and there is a hole to insert paper currency at the bottom of the bank.

Each coin slot has markings along the side of the coin stacks to keep track of coin totals. The three banks were promotional items from different banks located in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

The fourth bank is an excellent condition bronze-plated model that was a promotional item of the English bank, Williams Deacon Bank Limited, and is marked with schillings, pence, crowns, six pence, and small coins. The Williams Deacon Bank was acquired by the Royal Bank of Scotland in 1930.

There are no keys for these fourbanks but opening the banks with a letter opener is not too difficult. This lot has been priced right so any efforts to spend $20-$30 for a key or keys made by a locksmith will still result in a bargain purchase.
