- Description
This rare hinged two door wood and glass display cabinet features the Curtiss Fresh Candies banner along the bottom. One glass shelf is present and there is another slot to add another glass shelf if desired.
Curtiss Candies was based in Chicago and was founded in 1916. Curtiss manufactured Baby Ruth (1920), Butterfinger (1926) and Jolly Jack candies.
In 1964, the company was sold to Standard Brands and in 1981 a merger occurred with Nabisco. We believe this cabinet was distributed to sellers of Curtiss candies in the mid-1920's.
The cabinet measures 21-1/2" tall, 16-1/2" wide and about 12" in depth. The cabinet is a great place to store memorabilia. This piece is in good condition with normal scratches in the wood and some wood loss near the right side back panel.
The red lettering on the "Curtiss Fresh Candies" banner has some color fading. This piece would be a great piece for a some refinishing with some sanding and varnish. The glass doors with pull handles and the inside of the cabinet remain in very good condition.
