Antique Lehmann Wind-Up Tin Litho Clown On Donkey Cart

This early 1900's German wind-up features a colorful clown riding on a very ornate donkey cart with the donkey pulling the cart.  The cart's wheels feature the images of clowns with the Lehmann logo. The toy measures about 7 ¼” in length and about 5 ¾” in height.

The winding key is under the cart. When wound, the wheels propel the cart forward and the clown rises and sits while pulling back and forth on the reins as the donkey appears to be trotting along. 

The mechanical wind-up mechanism worked well when tested. The clown outfit and paint is in very good condition. The donkey and reins are in excellent condition. The unique cart is in very good condition with normal wear on the metal wheel edges. These ornate toys are highly collectable and examples of ones that work are becoming rare.
