Lincoln Theodore Monroe Andrew Perry (1902-1985) was better known as Stepin Fetchit. He was a vaudeville comedian and actor who was portrayed as the "Laziest Man In The World" during his 1927-1939 film career.

He was the first black actor to become a millionaire from his film career, and was also the first black actor to receive a featured screen credit. His busy entertainment career ended in 1953 when Black Americans viewed his character as an embarrassment that was harmful to the image of black people.

The enclosed death notice mentions that the name Stepin Fetchit originated from a racehorse that he won money on.
