Beautiful Condition Hand Made Chris Craft Barrel Back Model Boat Kit with Motor

This wooden treasure is approximately 29 inches long and 9 inches wide. The model was preserved well. The red seating, flags, interior wheel, gear lever and gold metal instrument cluster separates this model from most of the rest. 

The electric motor resides in the engine compartment and has not been tested and is likely not working although the engine compartment, propeller and rudder are in very good condition.

The model comes with a nice wooden stand. Skilled craftsman assembled these detailed models from scratch using high-grade woods that would now be considered very scarce. The plank on the frame construction method required numerous sanding and varnishing efforts to achieve the quality of this model involving many man-hours that would be cost-prohibitive today. 

Chris Craft was founded by Christopher Columbus Smith in 1922 and this barrel-back version is representative of the production in the 1930s. The deck hardware, flags and windshields includes fine metal stripping and casting that will make any sailor envious of this model's quality.
