This small 6" tall by 2-1/8" wide tin match box held wood matches were dispensed to smokers at the bottom of the hinged cover (gravity fed).
The original litho painted box is in very good condition with all gold lettering relating to WM. McKillip's General Merchandise Store located in Hollidaysburg, PA showing well.
The town of Hollidaysburg was founded in 1768 and we believe this match vender was used about 150 years after the town's founding.
This is a simple nice antique that hopefully allows you to remember the simple things in life.
