This special and original working tin litho is sought after by all Popeye collectors. The wind-up mechanism works well and causes Popeye to walk and push the cart forward as the colorful parrot hiding in the trunk raises and lowers itself whiles the cart travels forward. Most of these Popeyes were made with a non-moving parrot because of the delicacy of the mechanism so this tin is somewhat more desirable than most.

The condition of the tin is very good, there are no unusual scratches or gouging on the paint and the tin shows normal oxidation and wear.  The wheels move well and are original to this toy. When asked to describe this toy, Popeye's words, “I yam what I yam and that's all what I yam” come to mind.
