The hand-painted wooden dancer is jointed with cast iron pins at the hips, knees, ankles, elbows, and shoulders so his movement when dancing is fascinating to watch. The dancing platform is made of cast iron as is the frame that the cranking mechanism is inserted into.

The dancer performs when you turn the handle. The length of the dancer and dance platform can be adjusted by screws attached to three metal rods. The dancer and platform are in very good condition and any of the minor wear to the painted dancer's black paint and head adds to the character of this great unique piece.
