- Description
This classic 7" long tin shouts the name Louis Marx.
The jalopy has a luggage satchel hanging on the side by the driver and the car is loaded with text graffiti. A large red travel steamer trunk is loaded onto the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle moves forward and backwards due to the rotating front wheels.
As the rear wheels turn, the tin-litho drivers head moves in a circular pattern. The large Louis Marx brand is printed on the back of the driver's seat. The car is in very good condition with very limited scratching or oxidation.
The tin driver does show some oxidation on his face and upper body but all the driver's features and paint colors are easily discernible.
When we tested the winding mechanism, the wheels and driver's head did move properly but at times we had to manually move the rear power wheel to keep the action going. A new main spring would help the wind-up action of this toy.
The black paint on this jalopy is almost a century old and has some dulling resulting from age.
This classic toy belongs in every collection.
