- Description
This 11" tall, 9" wide, and 8-1/2" deep Penny Pack trade stimulator allowed the player to win a pack of Lucky Strike cigarettes when the three spinning slot machine-type reels hit three-of-a-kind.
The reels feature pictures of non-filtered cigarette including Camel, Old Gold, Chesterfield, and Lucky Strike. We tested the machine with a penny and the coin mechanism worked well and the reels did spin when we released the lever. We feel the reel mechanism could use a good cleaning and oiling to improve performance.
Every player was entitled to a gumball but the push button for the gumball release on the front of the machine is missing. The spring-hinged chute to insert the gumballs into the machine on the top rear of the machine is in good condition.
The painted metal body of the machine could use a repaint if the buyer wanted to elevate the condition of this machine from good to excellent. The green and red paint is somewhat worn. The substantial metal decorations on the machine have dulled in brightness, but all metal trim and metal signage are present, as is the glass window covering the reels and side view of the machine, and the plastic cover over the front of the machine's promotional item, such as the image of a Lucky Strike cigarette package.
We cannot locate the key to the machine, so we deducted another $100 from our price to help pay for the costs of a locksmith or an internet purchase to acquire a key.
