The tin monkey automatically climbs up the 17” tall palm tree using a counter-weighted pulley system. The monkey is supposed to retrieve a coconut from the tray at the top of the tree and when the monkey reaches the bottom, the coconut is released into the tray.

The coconuts have been lost and marbles or gumballs could be used instead. This toy is highly sought after and wind-up is in very good condition.

The pulley system worked well when tested. The toy is in good condition with little damage to the tin, monkey, or painted surfaces except for some paint loss and oxidation in the bottom base tray.

There is only one plastic palm frond at the top of the tree and we believe the original toy had three to four fronds attached.
