Eddie Cantor's real name was Isador Itzkowitz. The comedian, singer, and songwriter was born in 1892 and died in 1964. Cantor's top-rated radio and early age television shows featured his singing and comedy, with countless stories relating to his five daughters and wife.

His large, expressive eyes provided him with the nickname “Banjo Eyes". Cantor is the poster person for what is now called black face, where he would apply dark makeup and perform as a black person. for those who knew him, Cantor's actions in real life revealed only envy for the talented black performers who were part of his Vaudeville and Ziegfeld Follies upbringing.
