Hand Painted & Crafted Anri Italy Toriart "Big Top" Circus Display with 10 Clowns

This great vintage circus piece includes a hardwood-stained stage within a simulated tent that measures 14-1/4" in width, 13-1/2" in height and 4-3/4" in depth. 

The back of the piece is flat and is designed to either hang on the wall or lie flat in a cabinet or on a shelf. There are two large platform steps at the bottom of the piece and a flat surface above the stage that is used to display the delicate hand-painted clowns.

Each colorful and very detailed porcelain clown is unique and has different items in their hands with different expressions, painted costumes and features that are worth studying.

Due to the delicate nature of the porcelain, two single arms are missing on two clowns but when placed in the display, the missing limbs are difficult to notice.

This is one of our favorite circus pieces because of the visual portrayal of what the true spirit of the clown means to all those who have attended a circus.
