- Description
A.D. Carter (1895-1957) was the creator of various 20th-century newspaper comic strips featuring children, including "Our friend Mush" (1919-1923), "Just Kids" (1923-1957) and "Nicodemus O'Malley" (1926-1942).
Early Carter cartoons were featured in the McClure Newspaper Syndicate, and eventually, Carter's talents caught the attention of William Randolph Hearst, who owned King Features Syndicate, and Carter moved to the Hearst Corporation.
This personalized cartoon drawing features the characters that were routinely drawn by Carter for "Just Kids." The condition of the black ink drawing is very good, and Carter's signature and date are present.
