- Description
The 3-3/8" tall metal Nipper Dog was made in Philadelphia by H.A. Reif Manufacturing Company in the late 1920's to 1930's.
This somewhat rare piece was believed to have been made as a potential hood ornament. The metal has flaking cracks starting from the middle of the dog's front legs to the base. The dog's, features are very clear and the word "Victor" is embossed along the base. We would rate this piece as being in good condition.
The 4" tall chalk Nipper Dog is also in good condition with some minor paint loss on the dog collar and the body. The name "Victor" is printed on the pedestal side with the name Lynn Sheely Co. printed on the front of the base. The Sheely Company was a piano and music store that opened in Knoxville, Tennessee, in 1953.
The Radio Corporation of America will always be associated with their mascot named Nipper.
