- Description
This original retailer's box includes eleven unused Roy Rogers colorful plastic yo-yo's. This product was originally released in 1952.
Each yo-yo was wrapped in clear plastic, but due to age, the wrap became very brittle and some of the wrapping has cracked or split. The box also contains the original string that went with each yo-yo.
The top of the box features Roy Rogers-Double R Bar Ranch with the saying "Hi-Pardner!! Here's the top that outspins them all-Roundup King." The front side panel reads "It's smooth and fast, its inside walls are slick as glass- No rough wood to catch the string-Does all the tricks- It's Round-Up King."
Each yo-yo features a picture of Roy Rogers and Trigger. The box is in very good condition with no missing flaps or complete tears. Included in the box is a copy of the press release showing Roy Rogers holding the yo-yo with the manufacturer's President, William Vandegrift.
Roy placed an order to produce $2,000,000 of yo-yo's with Western Plastics Company of Scottsbluff, Nebraska. We have seen individual used Roy Rogers yo-yo's like these sell for over $50 a piece. This item is a rare find.
