Rare Vintage French Art Deco Mickey Mouse Wood and Metal Wall Hanging

We believe this unusual piece is from the late 1930’s. The wall hanging features Mickey in boxing gloves (Disney didn’t want to see any mouse hands) and the boxing theme of Mickey films was common in the 1930’s. 

The wall hanging measures about 11 ½” in height and 10 ½” in width. The wood frame is clad in metal stripping attached to a painted black wooden base.  A colorful wooden Mickey is mounted on a circular painted board and the character consists of cut-out pieces (similar to a puzzle) that have been fastened to the circular board.

Mounted Mickey stands about 2 ½” out from the frame so there is dimension in the wall hanging.  All paint and frame materials are original and have normal wear but still shows very well with little damage.

The back of the piece has "Models Depose" which translates to registered design in English. If you want Mickey on your wall, this piece will get him noticed.
