- Description
This original old-time grocery store scene is printed on paperboard with paperboard shelves and a counter. The original store has been preserved in a plexiglass case that opens and closes and has a flat back for hanging on a wall.
The case is 15" in length, 20" in height, and 8" in width, providing a great solution to resolve the ongoing problem of having the tin cans constantly fall to the floor because of the somewhat flimsy, narrow paperboard shelves.
The shelves are supported by paperboard tabs, and a few of the tabs are missing but the shelves still hold. The attention-getting two dozen colorful cans all have labels that remain in good condition, but the top and bottom of the can (lids) do show some oxidation due to age, as would be expected.
When the cans are placed on the shelves and counter, this piece is a real attention getter. There is some minor cracking on the top of the plexiglass case, but this does not detract from the front view of the special grocery store.
