Vintage HSIN Chi (Taiwan) Jolly Cymbal Clapping Monkey Battery-Operated Toy (Not-Working)

This 1960's 9-1/2" tall battery-operated monkey is holding cymbals in his clapping hands.

The monkey's fur, clothing, eyes, hands, and feet are in very good condition. When we inserted new batteries into the clean battery compartment, we could not get the toy to switch on.

The clapping arms did move to bang the cymbals manually, so we believe the problem is related to a wire break. Hopefully, the wiring problems could be fixed by a skilled buyer, but if not, this toy is still worth having on any collector's shelf because all monkey toys were designed to make you smile.
